As a lifelong coach, teacher, and real estate broker/owner for over 35 years, I’ve spent my career helping people connect, learn, and create joyful experiences. But nothing brings me more joy these days than the game of Mahjong — and sharing it with others.
I fell in love with Mahjong not just for the strategy and tradition, but for the beauty of the tiles, the elegance of the table setups, and the laughter and friendships that always seem to come with every game. There’s something magical about gathering around a table, flipping tiles, and making memories — whether you’re a seasoned player or a curious beginner.
That passion inspired My Mahj World — a rental and teaching service based right here in Oxford, Mississippi. I wanted to make Mahjong more accessible, more stylish, and more fun for everyone. We offer beginner and advanced mahjong classes and mahjong set rentals.
Julie Bennett Sample is also the founder of the Oxford Mahjong Society, a growing community of local players who gather to play, learn, and share their love for the game.
